On Friday (September 12), at the youth division’s election rally in Barishal city, Advocate Muazzam Hossain Helal, Assistant Secretary of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, addressed the gathering. He stated that the people of the country are now entrusting the responsibility of building a new Bangladesh to the youth, and in the upcoming elections, the public will show confidence in Jamaat-e-Islami.
Helal said, “We must understand the pulse of the people. The public will no longer accept any fascist rule. In recent elections at various major universities, it was the youth who voted for change. In the upcoming elections, despite various pressures or influences, the youth will not accept any coercion.”
He further emphasized, “It is necessary to ensure equal opportunities in elections, implement the July charter, and organize elections through a proportional representation system after prosecuting the perpetrators of genocide. Just as the youth played a crucial role in the history of Islam, the youth of Bangladesh are also the driving force for change in the country.”
The rally was presided over by Zafar Iqbal, President of the city’s Youth and Sports Division, and conducted by Secretary Advocate Kawser Hossain.
