Mumtahina Karim Mim Wins Full-Ride Scholarship at Hendrix College, USA

Mumtahina Karim Mim from Chattogram has won the prestigious Hays Memorial Scholarship at Hendrix College in the state of Arkansas, USA. Each year, only four students receive this full-ride scholarship, and Mumtahina has been selected as the only international student among them.

The scholarship covers four years of tuition, accommodation, meals, and all other expenses. Mumtahina stated that the total financial value of the scholarship is approximately BDT 26.5 million.

She is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science at Hendrix College, where classes began on August 26. Mumtahina completed her earlier education in Chattogram, finishing her higher secondary studies locally.

Passionate about technology and coding from a young age, Mumtahina founded a programming club at her school and has won awards at the national level. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she independently worked on various projects and even created a small “mini robotics lab” at home.

Mumtahina expressed her aspiration to return to Bangladesh after completing her studies and contribute to the country’s development through technology and innovation. Her mother, Yasmin Akter, said, “We have always supported Mumtahina in pursuing her interests. Everyone please pray for her success.”
