Mother and Daughter Murdered in Ramgarh, Khagrachhari

A horrific murder took place in Ramgarh Upazila of Khagrachhari. According to local sources, on Thursday morning, police recovered the slit-throat bodies of a mother and her daughter from a house in the Purba Bagantila area of the Upazila Sadar Union.

The deceased have been identified as Amena Begum (45) and her daughter Raihana Akter (17). Police said the murder likely occurred late Wednesday night. At the time of the incident, no one else was present in the house besides the mother and daughter.

Ramgarh Police Station OC Mohammad Moin Uddin said that after receiving the information, police arrived at the scene and recovered the bodies. Preliminary investigation suggests it was a premeditated murder. Law enforcement has cordoned off the area and is collecting evidence.

Locals reported that they noticed the house door open in the morning and entered, only to find the bodies of the mother and daughter. They then informed the police. The incident has spread fear throughout the area.

Police stated that the motive behind the murder is still unclear, and investigations are ongoing to identify the perpetrators. Authorities have assured that those responsible will be quickly apprehended and brought to justice.

Locals said such a brutal crime had never occurred in the area before. They are demanding the immediate arrest of the culprits and strict punishment.
