At a time when short-form videos and reels are reducing interest in long content, micro-drama is gaining popularity in Bangladesh. A new series titled “Silver Sadiya” has recently received a strong response from viewers after its release. The series has sparked discussions on social media due to its unique storytelling style and character presentation.
Actress Sadiya Ayman, who plays the lead role in the series, said she did not expect such a response. According to her, this is not a conventional love story based on hero–heroine romance, but a different kind of narrative that audiences have embraced easily. Viewers on YouTube and Facebook are expressing interest in upcoming episodes and a second season.
In “Silver Sadiya,” her character is a calm, madrasa-educated girl who secretly lives another life as a skilled gamer. The biggest challenge for the actress was portraying these two contrasting identities together.
Sadiya Ayman said that she was not familiar with gaming in her personal life. Therefore, she had to prepare extensively for the role, including understanding gaming culture, watching online streams, and learning technical aspects. Director Miraj Hossain helped her significantly in this process.
According to her, the character is not just about a gamer, but also represents many young people who have talent but lack opportunities to express themselves properly. Through this role, she tried to represent such hidden talents.
She said that an artist’s identity should be defined by acting quality rather than appearance, and she values audience appreciation of her performance the most.
She also shared that she entered the acting industry in 2019 through advertisements, and initially did not have full family support. However, over time, through hard work and patience, she gained her family’s trust. Now her family feels proud of her work.
Many consider “Silver Sadiya” a successful experimental initiative in Bangladesh’s content industry, and anticipation for its next season is growing due to audience interest and social media discussions.
