Jamalpur: Jamuna Express Coach Derails, Dhaka-Bound Trains Delayed

Jamalpur: A coach of the intercity Jamuna Express (746), which departed from Tarakandi in Jamalpur, derailed, causing delays for trains heading to Dhaka. However, all trains departing from Dhaka are running on schedule.

The incident occurred around 8:10 am on Saturday (23 August) near the outer signal of the Airport Station. According to railway sources, the third coach (7063) at the front of the train went off the tracks.

Immediately after the accident, the front part of the derailed coach was sent to Cantonment Station and the rear part to Tongi Railway Station, clearing the section. A relief train has been dispatched from Dhaka, which will recover the coach after a short shunting at Cantonment.

Railway sources confirmed that no casualties occurred in the derailment. However, the arrival of trains to Dhaka is experiencing some delays.
