PNN International Desk | June 21, 2025 (Al Jazeera): The Israeli military on Friday (June 20) claimed it had killed an Iranian military commander during a precision airstrike targeting three missile launch platforms that were allegedly being prepared for attacks on Israel. The report, citing Al Jazeera, marks a new escalation in the growing Iran-Israel conflict.
According to the Israeli army, the operation successfully neutralized the commander overseeing missile launch preparations. While the military described the strike as “precise,” it did not release further details regarding the identity of the commander or the exact location of the attack.
Al Jazeera reported that they are seeking more information and will update as new details emerge. As of now, Iranian officials have not issued any official comment on the incident.
The airstrike came after a massive overnight operation carried out by Israeli forces inside Iran, involving more than 60 fighter jets, according to various sources. The scale and intensity of the attack have further heightened tensions across the Middle East, drawing international concern.
This latest development underscores the rapidly deteriorating security situation in the region and raises fears of a broader military confrontation between the two arch-rivals.
