At least eight Palestinians have been killed and 61 others injured in a new wave of Israeli attacks over the past 24 hours, according to the Gaza Health Ministry. The strikes come as representatives from both sides have been holding three days of ceasefire talks in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

A statement from the Health Ministry noted that among the injured in yesterday’s attacks, women and children make up the majority. Additionally, two more bodies were recovered from previous rubble.

Since the Israeli offensive that began on October 7, 2023, a total of 67,183 Palestinians have been killed and 169,841 injured, according to the ministry.

Meanwhile, James Elder, a representative of UNICEF in Gaza, said that the Israeli forces have denied permission four times to move incubators for newborns from northern Gaza. He stated, “Many of the babies whose lives we could have saved are dying due to this lack of permission.”

A representative from the World Health Organization (WHO) also described the situation in Gaza as “unbearable,” adding, “Hospitals in Gaza are in dire conditions—everywhere there are severely burned children, injured people, and a critical shortage of medicines.”

Separately, Hamas issued a statement condemning Israeli right-wing National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir’s entry into the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound as a “deliberate provocation,” describing it as an expression of the extremist mindset of the Israeli government.

Despite ongoing ceasefire talks, bombings continue, with locals saying, “Promises of peace are only on paper—Gaza is still drenched in blood.”
