Elder Brother Killed by Younger Brother in Bhanga, Faridpur

In Bhanga Upazila, Faridpur, a family dispute between two brothers ended tragically when the younger brother, Alauddin Sheikh (28), fatally attacked his elder brother, Salauddin Sheikh (31), with a cleaver. On Friday morning, Salauddin was first taken to Bhanga Upazila Health Complex and later transferred to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where he died at around 11:15 PM while undergoing treatment.

Local sources reported that the two brothers shared an electricity meter. On Friday morning, Salauddin protested after seeing a light turned on in Alauddin’s room. An argument ensued between them, during which Alauddin attacked Salauddin with a cleaver, hitting him in the abdomen and causing severe injuries.

Chairman of Tuzarpur Union Parishad, Waliur Rahman, stated that during the argument, Salauddin struck his younger brother with a stick, which angered Alauddin, leading him to attack his elder brother with the cleaver.

OC of Bhanga Police Station, Mohammad Ashraf Sheikh, confirmed that the younger brother, Alauddin, is currently absconding, and legal action is underway.
