Controversy over slap scene on shooting set: Tanzin Tisha speaks out

Actress Tanzin Tisha finally spoke regarding allegations of assault on a co-actor during the shooting of a drama for Eid. Actress Samia Athoi had claimed that after being slapped in a scene, she was struck back.

Responding to the matter, Tisha said the incident occurred within the context of the character and scene in the drama. She stated that she was portraying a character with special needs, whose behavior could be aggressive. She said the slap and physical reaction were part of the scene requirement. “I did exactly what the script required. I did nothing beyond the character,” Tisha said.

On the other hand, Samia Athoi went live on social media and claimed that during the scene, she lightly slapped as instructed, but later Tisha hit her forcefully, causing swelling on her face and eyes. She demanded justice and stated that such experiences had never occurred on set before.

Tisha responded by saying that many other artists and crew members were present on the set. No one else raised such complaints. She claimed that it stayed within professional boundaries but was being portrayed as a personal attack. She added, “The comments made about me on live are intentional and meant to create controversy.”

The drama is directed by Rafat Majumdar and also stars Shahiduzzaman Selim and several others. Shahiduzzaman Selim told the media that minor professional disagreements could have been resolved through discussion. However, he later learned that Samia Athoi left the set. He attempted to contact her by phone but did not get any response.

The incident has now sparked widespread discussion on social media. Experts stress the need for professional conduct and a safe working environment on sets. However, many believe that once the drama is released and the context of the scene is understood, much of the controversy will be resolved.
