Amid security concerns in the Gulf region due to tensions between the United States and Iran, Bollywood actress Asha Gupta was temporarily stranded in the United Arab Emirates. After a few hours of anxiety and uncertainty, she safely returned to India, she confirmed.
In a post on social media, the actress described the situation as extremely worrisome. She expressed relief at being home and gratitude for everyone’s prayers and good wishes. She stated that the situation they were in was frightening and filled with uncertainty.
Asha Gupta reported that she arrived at Abu Dhabi International Airport last Sunday at noon. Around 1 PM, the airport was suddenly announced as temporarily closed. Initially, passengers were not informed clearly about the situation. Later, rumors of a potential missile attack caused further anxiety.
She described how passengers were trying to comfort each other and contact their families. She appreciated the professionalism and prompt response of the airport authorities.
As she had not yet completed her check-in, she had to take shelter at a hotel in Abu Dhabi after flight operations were suspended. She learned similar experiences of fear and confusion from other passengers. After a few hours, when the situation normalized, she was able to return to India through alternative arrangements. Although she described the experience as terrifying, she said that the solidarity of strangers and the responsible actions of authorities left a deep impression on her.
