PNN News Desk | Dhaka:

In the DUCSU and hall union elections, independent student Rupaiya Shrestha Tonchongya has raised a complaint about a ballot paper at the TSC polling center that already had a cross mark.

Rupaiya alleged that her friend, while attempting to vote, received a ballot where the names of the student league-supported panel’s vice president candidate Abu Sadik Kayem and general secretary candidate S.M. Farhad already had cross marks next to them. Following the complaint, polling officers replaced the ballot.

TSC polling officer Rumana Parvin stated that all ballots had been checked and no mark was found on any of them. She added that it might have been a mistake on the part of the student.

Student League-supported candidate Abu Sadik Kayem described the complaint as an attempt to disrupt the election and said strict action should be taken against any officials involved in such incidents.

Returning officer for TSC, Professor Nasrin Sultana, mentioned that every polling center is being monitored via CCTV. She said that as soon as a complaint was received, the footage is being reviewed, and detailed information will be shared after verification.
