“Citizen New Year 1433”: Colorful Baishakh celebration by NCP

The National Citizens Party (NCP) has taken various initiatives to welcome the Bengali New Year. Under the title “Citizen New Year 1433,” the party plans to showcase Bengali heritage through Baishakhi fairs, processions, and various cultural performances.

Preparations under the party’s cultural cell have already begun. On Monday night, alpana (traditional art) was drawn at Navy Gali in Banglamotor, Dhaka. Party spokesperson Asif Mahmud Sajeeb Bhuiyan is expected to visit the site.

According to the organization, the main program will begin after noon on Pahela Baishakh. At 3:00 pm, a colorful procession will start from Banglamotor, go around Shahbagh, and end at the same place.

A Baishakhi fair will also be held at Navy Gali, featuring rural traditional items, clay crafts, and local food stalls. Items like muri-murki, jilapi, and other traditional foods will be available for visitors.

The event will also include songs, dances, bioscope shows, and other cultural performances representing Bengali folk culture. Organizers said the fair will end before 6:00 pm in accordance with government instructions.

NCP leaders said the event is open to all and invited people to join and enjoy the festive atmosphere.
