BRICS Strongly Condemns Iran-Israel Conflict, Calls for Peace and Dialogue

25 June 2025: The BRICS alliance has strongly condemned the recent attacks on Iran by Israel and the United States, describing them as violations of international law and the UN Charter. The condemnation carries additional weight as Iran and the United Arab Emirates have recently joined the bloc alongside founding members Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.

According to Al Jazeera’s online edition, BRICS issued a statement following the ceasefire between Iran and Israel, labeling the strikes on Iran’s peaceful nuclear infrastructure as breaches of international law and the principles of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

The statement warned that continued violence could further intensify the crisis. BRICS emphasized that now is the time to return to diplomacy. The alliance urged all parties involved to pursue peaceful solutions and engage in constructive dialogue.

“The cycle of violence must be broken,” the statement read, “and lasting peace must be restored — something that can only be achieved through dialogue.”
