Bangladesh has secured victory in the three-match T20 series against Afghanistan with one match to spare. Following a 2-wicket win over Afghanistan in the second match, pacer Shariful Islam emerged as the hero of the game, contributing with both bat and ball, and winning the 'Man of the Match' award in international T20 cricket for the first time.

Shariful’s contributions extend beyond the field as well. He has decided to donate the entire prize money of 50,000 Afghanis (approximately 89,000 BDT) awarded for the Man of the Match to support underprivileged people in his local area.

Although he has previously been named Player of the Series in his 54-match career, this is the first time Shariful has been awarded Man of the Match. In the second T20, he showcased his talent:

Bowling: He bowled 4 overs, conceding just 13 runs and taking the key wicket of Rahmanullah Gurbaz, effectively slowing down Afghanistan’s scoring.

Batting: Needing 19 runs in the final two overs for victory, Shariful came to the crease and scored an unbeaten 11 runs off 6 balls, including two boundaries, securing a 2-wicket win for Bangladesh.
