Attempts are being made to create instability in the country: Mirza Fakhrul in Naogaon

Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has said that a group of pessimists in the country is trying to create instability by exploiting various issues. He urged everyone to remain alert against such attempts.

He made the remarks while speaking as chief guest at a discussion event held on Friday afternoon at Rabindra Kachharibari in Patishar, Atrai upazila of Naogaon, marking the 165th birth anniversary of Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore. The event was jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture and the district administration.

He said that after the recent political change, people have expectations from the government. However, a group is trying to create confusion and unrest by using minor issues. He said no one wants the country to return to instability.

He also said that the July movement showed the aspirations of the youth for change, marking a new chapter in political reality. He criticized previous governments, saying they had damaged the economy, banking system, and administration.

Highlighting Rabindranath Tagore’s contribution, he said the poet’s ideas on society and development remain relevant even today. He praised Tagore’s initiatives in agriculture and rural development.

He urged the younger generation to engage in literature, music, and culture to become more humane and positive.

The event was presided over by Divisional Commissioner A N M Bajlur Rashid. Others who spoke included Land Minister Mizanur Rahman, State Minister for Culture Ali Newaz Mahmud Khaiyam, MPs, and senior officials.
