After multiple international concerts were canceled in Dhaka over the past month, uncertainty has grown in the music scene. Pakistani artists Azmat Ali and Jal Band, Indian artist Anuv Jain, and Kabisher were among the canceled events, with Atif Aslam being the latest addition. His concert, scheduled for December 13 at China-Bangladesh Friendship Exhibition Centre, was canceled due to lack of necessary security clearance.

Despite the cancellation, Atif Aslam stayed in Dhaka and performed at several private shows. On Thursday afternoon, he performed at a private university event titled ‘Music Beyond Boundaries’ from 4:00 p.m. at the university playground, attended by teachers, students, staff, and alumni.

Previously, on December 15, he performed at a private club show, and on December 17, another private performance was held. The originally planned concert was to be co-organized by ‘Main Stage Inc’ and ‘Spirit of July,’ with 40% of the profits intended for the July Martyrs’ Memorial Foundation.

Atif Aslam expressed regret on social media about the canceled concert, citing lack of local approvals, security clearance, and logistical arrangements. Despite the cancellation, his continued presence and private performances have elicited mixed reactions among music fans.
