AI’s impact on the future of content on Instagram: Meta’s Adam Mosseri shares views

Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri stated that artificial intelligence (AI) will create opportunities for people who previously could not be content creators to produce content within certain standards and scales. However, he cautioned that individuals with malicious intent could misuse this technology for unethical activities.

Speaking at the Bloomberg ScreenTime Conference, the Meta executive said that today’s creators will find their work easier and will be able to produce higher-quality content. He noted that using AI could reduce the cost of content production to nearly zero, similar to how the internet lowered the cost of publishing content.

Mosseri also mentioned that in the future, the line between real and AI-generated content will become increasingly blurred. He emphasized that Meta has a responsibility to educate users and provide relevant information to help identify AI-generated content.

He shared personal insights, saying he needs to teach his children that watching a video does not necessarily mean it is true. Additionally, Mosseri discussed Instagram’s future plans, highlighting the importance of the TV app, Reels, and DMs as key features.
