On Wednesday (April 1), local authorities in Purvabhag Bazar, Nasirnagar Upazila, conducted a raid and seized approximately 5,000 liters of illegally stored fuel.
According to Upazila administration sources, a mobile court inspected the premises of ‘Selim Enterprise’ following reports of large fuel stockpiles. The operation was led by Upazila Assistant Commissioner (Land) and Executive Magistrate Sahel Ahmed.
Faisal, the owner, was fined BDT 10,000. 26 drums of fuel were seized—24 drums contained 200 liters each, and the remaining two had 100 liters each.
Executive Magistrate Sahel Ahmed stated, “The raid was based on reports of illegal stockpiling. Legal action is being taken regarding the seized fuel.”
The initiative is being seen as a warning against illegal fuel hoarding in the local market.
