International Desk | PNN:
At least 25 Palestinians have been killed in renewed Israeli military strikes in the Gaza Strip. Among the dead are 16 residents of Gaza City, including a six-year-old set of twins. The attacks, which began early Monday morning, have destroyed several buildings.
Filippo Grandi, head of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), stated that in the past four days, Israeli attacks have targeted at least 10 UNRWA buildings, severely disrupting humanitarian aid operations.
Meanwhile, Arab and Muslim world leaders gathered in Doha, Qatar, on Monday following last week’s Israeli strikes. The meeting is expected to issue a joint stance against Israel’s aggression.
On the other hand, Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir told a parliamentary committee that Prime Minister Netanyahu has yet to give clear directives to the military regarding the next steps in Gaza.
Additionally, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is scheduled to attend a controversial underground tunnel inauguration in Jerusalem today. The tunnel, dug in the Silwan area of Palestine, provides direct access to Jewish religious sites, potentially escalating tensions further.
The ongoing attacks in Gaza and the international reactions are complicating the Palestinian crisis even further.
