Staff Reporter | PNN:
In response to the ongoing violence and alleged genocide in Palestine, film and entertainment artists around the world have taken an even stronger stance against Israel. They have announced that they will not participate in any films made or produced in Israel and will not attend any film festivals in the country.

The boycott has been initiated by an organization called “Film Workers for Palestine”, with over 1,800 actors, directors, and producers signing on, including some of Hollywood’s top stars. The organization emphasized that standing up for human rights is now a crucial task, especially as governments worldwide remain silently supportive of the violence.

As a result of the boycott, artists and their works will no longer be seen at events like the Jerusalem Film Festival, Haifa International Film Festival, Docaviv, Tel Aviv International Documentary Film Festival, and TLVFest.

Among those supporting the boycott are actors Emma Stone, Olivia Colman, Riz Ahmed, Gael García Bernal, Tilda Swinton, and Javier Bardem. Directors involved include Yorgos Lanthimos, Ava DuVernay, and Joshua Oppenheimer, among others.

This move by artists is being seen internationally as a powerful statement in favor of human rights and justice.
