Syed Ami: From YouTube to Tollywood – A Talent Excelling in Singing, Acting, and Directing

Syed Ami, a native of Comilla, has been passionate about music since childhood. Though he did not receive formal training, his mother sang ghazals beautifully, which may have inspired Ami’s musical talent. He used to sing freely at local events and gatherings. In 2016, he officially began his musical journey with the song “Obujh Mon” from the mixed album Buker Bhitor.

His first major success came with the song “Ghum Na Asa Rate”, released in 2018, which has now surpassed 44.5 million views on YouTube. Later, his song “Mon Kande” achieved 78.5 million views, marking a turning point in his career. Other popular songs include “Matal,” “Dui Chakkar Cycle,” and “Pori Paichi Re,” all of which have resonated widely with audiences.

His songs have also created waves among the younger generation on social media. Tracks like “Gopone Gopone Prem,” “Baby Reels Banare,” and “Manush Chinba Dudin Age–Pore” are favorites among listeners. Ami says, “I present my music through digital platforms so that audiences enjoy entertainment and songs continue to live across generations.”

Ami attributes his success to careful selection of projects. Before releasing a song, he consults with industry friends and colleagues for feedback. He believes that long-term struggle and experience are key to his achievements.

He is now returning with a new project: a modern version of the popular 2002 song “Assalamu Alaikum Biyain Sab”, titled “Assalamu Alaikum Biyain Sab 2.0”, featuring vocals by Syed Ami and Dilshad Nahar Kona. His wife, actress Achol Akhi, appears as a model in the music video.

Ami is not only a singer but also directs his own music videos and appreciates the talent of his co-actors. He has gained experience in Tollywood as a singer as well; his song “Marubhumi” from the West Bengal film Ari won acclaim from audiences and critics alike.

He says, “New and old projects will be released one after another. We have completed new video projects in the United States as well. Audiences will enjoy unique concepts. Overall, I aim to maintain the highest standards in music and video production.”
