Safa Kabir Speaks Out After Remaining Silent Over Drug Allegations

After her name was linked to a drug-related case at the end of last year, popular actress Safa Kabir suddenly went into hiding. After remaining silent for nearly eight months, she has finally spoken publicly about the matter for the first time.

Recently, while participating in Rumaan Rashid Khan’s Behind the Frame podcast, Safa said that she was completely shocked when the news broke. In her words:
"I was completely shocked after seeing the news. What is happening? After that, no one gave any updates. But the news caused harm to me. They made news about three or four girls, without ever thinking about what would happen to our lives."

Safa claimed that the spread of such news without evidence had a serious impact on her career. She lost work opportunities, brand deals were canceled, and even many senior artists hesitated to work with her. She said:
"I had a brand deal scheduled for Sunday. After the news was published on Thursday, it was canceled. I tried to explain, but there was nothing to prove."

She also shared the mental stress she endured during that time but expressed gratitude toward some colleagues in the showbiz industry. In her words:
"Tawsif Mahbub immediately supported me to work with him. Jovan, Siam—they all were mentally there for me. That’s how I got through this difficult time."

Safa emphasized that spreading rumors on social media is dangerous. She said:
"We often act without thinking, but we don’t consider how it will affect someone’s life and family. People already don’t view the media positively, and such news worsens that perception."

According to the actress, it is crucial to stop the dissemination of unnecessary negative news about people in the media; otherwise, its impact affects not only individual artists but the entire entertainment industry.
