Brazilian football star Neymar Jr. is once again in the spotlight, not only for his performances on the pitch but also for his controversial behaviour. Playing for Santos, he was involved in a confrontation with an opposing player and was sent off. After initially receiving a yellow card for throwing the ball at an opponent's chest, the forward was shown a straight red card following a video assistant referee (VAR) review of an incident in which he covered his mouth while speaking.

Neymar also raised the issue of anti-racism regulations in his comments. He questioned how Nestor could misuse such provisions if the incident fell under the rules designed to combat racism.
