During preparations for a flash rally in Hazaribagh, Dhaka, 11 leaders and activists of the banned Awami League and its affiliated organizations were arrested by the police. The operation was conducted on Thursday morning near the embankment adjacent to Sikder Petrol Pump.
According to the police, around 7:30 AM, 100–150 Awami League, Jubo League, and Chhatra League activists had gathered there to prepare for the rally in protest against the caretaker government. When the police arrived at the scene, the activists tried to flee. 11 individuals were caught red-handed with banners bearing Awami League slogans.
The arrested individuals included members from Lalbagh, Chawkbazar, Hazaribagh, Kamrangirchar, and Narayanganj, representing various levels of the Awami League, Jubo League, and Chhatra League.
A case has been filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act at Hazaribagh Police Station regarding the incident. The police stated that they will remain strict in such operations to maintain law and order.
