International Desk | PNN:
At a military exhibition held on Friday in Pyongyang, North Korean leader Kim Jong Un unveiled the Hwasong-20 intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), described by the state-run Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) as the “most powerful” strategic weapon of the country.

Although the exhibition also showcased long-range strategic cruise missiles, drone launch vehicles, and other modern weaponry, special attention was given to the Hwasong-20 ICBM, which KCNA called the “most powerful nuclear strategic weapons system of the armed forces.”

The new missile was displayed mounted on an 11-axle launcher truck. Military analysts suggest that the Hwasong-20 may be designed to carry multiple nuclear warheads, which would increase pressure on U.S. missile defense systems.

In his speech following the exhibition, Kim Jong Un described North Korea as a “loyal member of socialist power” and “a wall of independence against Western global dominance.”

The event was attended by Dmitry Medvedev, a senior Russian representative. Kim and Medvedev expressed hopes to strengthen bilateral cooperation and discussed working together to achieve joint goals across various sectors.
