Bangladesh launches the new 10 Taka banknote today, Tuesday (3 February). The note, part of a series highlighting “Bangladesh’s historical and archaeological heritage,” will be gradually issued through central bank branches.

Previous releases in this series include notes of 1,000, 500, 200, 100, 50, and 20 Taka. Today marks the first circulation of the new 10 Taka note signed by Governor Dr. Ahsan Habib Mansur.

The note measures 123 mm in length and 60 mm in width. The front left features Baitul Mokarram National Mosque, with the Shapla (national flower) depicted in the center. The reverse side features a “Graffiti-2024” image and predominantly pink coloring. Security features include a watermark of the Royal Bengal Tiger, electrotype “10,” a microprinted “BANGLADESH BANK,” and a 2 mm security thread changing color from red to green when tilted.

Existing notes and coins remain valid. A sample collector’s note of 10 Taka has also been printed, available at the Taka Museum in Mirpur.
