Google has introduced a new tool designed to make scheduling meetings easier for Gmail users. On Tuesday, the company unveiled a new “Help Me Schedule” feature powered by Gemini AI. This tool analyzes calendar availability to find the ideal meeting times and then presents those options to the email recipient to finalize the meeting setup.

Google stated that the feature is designed primarily for one-on-one meetings, meaning it is not yet suitable for group or multi-person scheduling.

The launch of this new feature is part of a broader wave of AI-based updates across Google Workspace. Recently, Google has rolled out several innovations — including its new image editing model “Nano Banana,” Gemini features in Google Slides, custom AI assistant tools for “James,” new formats in NotebookLM, and advanced AI-powered video tools in Google Vids, among others.

To use the new scheduling feature, Gmail users will now see a “Help Me Schedule” button in the compose window. Clicking it will display a list of your available time slots. You can then click the edit button to modify or remove options, insert the preferred times into your email, and send it to the recipient. When the recipient selects a suitable time, that meeting will automatically be added to both participants’ calendars.

According to Google, this tool differs from other meeting assistants or automated scheduling tools because it suggests meeting times based on the context of the email. For example, if someone mentions in an email that they want to schedule a 30-minute slot, the assistant will only recommend times that fit within the user’s schedule by the end of the following week.

Previously, Google Calendar had an appointment scheduling feature, but it was not integrated with Gmail and did not use AI technology. This new feature aims to make the meeting scheduling process much simpler and faster for users.

Additionally, on Tuesday, Google announced another update — reminders in Google Keep will now automatically sync with Google Tasks.

With this new feature, Google is taking another significant step toward modernizing the way users schedule meetings — helping them save time and make their workflow more efficient.
