A birth injury caused facial deformity and a deep voice, leading to bullying in childhood. After his parents’ divorce at age 11, he lived with his father, who was emotionally and physically strict.
In an interview with CBS Mornings, Stallone said, “How parents treat children is crucial. They should provide love, or a child’s life becomes complicated. I still carry the impact.”
At age 20, Stallone moved to New York, taught himself to write scripts, and in 1975 wrote Rocky, changing his life. Studios initially did not want him to star in his own film, but Stallone insisted. Rocky went on to win three Oscars, including Best Picture.
He said, “Oscar night was a mix of joy and sorrow. My parents were not present, which was painful.” He hopes his story inspires others, proving that ordinary people can overcome hardships.
Stallone noted that Rocky is more than a boxing story; it’s a love story. True success comes from the love between Rocky and Adrian, not fighting.
After achieving international fame through Rocky and Rambo, Stallone faced setbacks but returned to success with Rocky Balboa in 2006. He is currently shooting the fourth season of his Paramount hit show Tulsa King.
