On 5 September, five members of the YouTube channel Prank King’s drama team were seriously injured in a road accident while heading to a shoot. Among the injured, lightman assistant Robin is being treated at the National Orthopedic Hospital, generator operator Abdur Razzak at Dhaka Medical College, and lightman assistant Hriday at Jamalpur Medical College.

A week after the accident, no major organizations or small-screen production companies have checked on them. Despite repeated requests for help via Facebook and phone, the injured and their families have received no response.

Robin lost one hand, and one of his legs is in danger. Abdur Razzak suffered multiple fractures in his neck and chest, while Hriday lost five teeth due to a jaw injury.

Although eight organizations under the Film, Television, and Digital Media Professionals’ Federation have checked on the patients in hospitals, no major organization has taken responsibility. Due to the lack of guidance and humanitarian support, individual filmmakers and artists have stepped in to assist the injured.

Through director Tapu Khan, producer Akbar Haider provided 50,000 BDT for Robin’s treatment. Additionally, several cinematographers and actors have contributed independently. However, Prank King’s founder and drama director Arfin Sajib has not yet provided any assistance.

The incident raises a new warning regarding artist safety and the responsibility of shooting units.
