Professor Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the Interim Government, visited the Dhakeshwari National Temple today to exchange greetings with followers of Sanatan religion on the occasion of Sharadiya Durga Puja. He arrived at the temple at 11 a.m. and attended the greeting session organized to celebrate the festival.
During the session, the Chief Adviser stated that Bangladesh is built on the harmony of multiple religions and cultures. He emphasized that the government will ensure that followers of every religion can celebrate their festivals with equal respect and security.
Earlier, on Monday afternoon, leaders of the Puja Celebration Council met with the Chief Adviser at the State Guest House Jamuna. During the meeting, they briefed him on the preparations for the upcoming Durga Puja at various puja mandaps across the country and invited him to visit the mandaps.
According to the leaders of the Puja Celebration Council, the number of puja mandaps nationwide has increased by over a thousand compared to last year. Preparations for the festival are now in full swing across the country.
Officials stated that both government and private authorities have strengthened security measures to ensure that the Durga Puja celebrations are conducted peacefully and joyfully.
