Bobby Sherman, the iconic American singer and actor who rose to fame in the 1970s, has passed away at the age of 81. He died peacefully on Tuesday, June 24, with his wife Brigitte Poublon Sherman confirming the news in an emotional Instagram post.
According to Variety Magazine, Brigitte wrote:
"The love of my life, my husband Bobby, has left us. We held hands and bid farewell to our 29-year journey of marriage with honor. Even in his final moments, he was calm, strong, and surrounded by love."
Just three months ago, it was publicly revealed that Bobby had been diagnosed with Stage-4 cancer, which initially developed in his kidney and later spread to other parts of his body. During his final days, Brigitte read letters from fans aloud to him.
"I could see that old sparkle in his eyes again," she shared. "Even at death’s door, he never lost his sense of humor."
While Bobby Sherman was once a teen idol dominating music charts and television screens, his later life was dedicated to service. He stepped away from the glamour of Hollywood to work as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and also served as a trainer for the Los Angeles Police Department.
Tributes have poured in from fans and fellow artists around the world. Actor John Stamos expressed his sorrow on Instagram, writing:
"The teen sensation of yesteryear now rests in eternal peace—sleep well, Bobby Sherman."
Sherman’s passing marks the end of a remarkable journey — from pop stardom to public service — and leaves behind a legacy of music, compassion, and humility.
