Azmeri Haque Badhon’s Bollywood Experience: Kolkata Disappointing, Mumbai Exceptional

In her 19-year acting career, actress Azmeri Haque Badhon has had opportunities to work both domestically and internationally. Among her foreign projects, her most notable work is the film Rehana Maryam Noor, directed by Abdullah Mohammad Saad, which brought Badhon international recognition.

Badhon also acted in the Indian director Srijit Mukherji’s series Rabindranath Here Kakhono Khate Asen Ni. However, her experience working in Kolkata did not meet her expectations. She mentioned that she was not treated properly on the shooting set. Although Srijit Mukherji later expressed regret and apologized, the responsibility largely fell on his unit.

In contrast, Badhon had a very positive experience working in Vishal Bhardwaj’s 2023 film Khufia, where she received genuine support and warmth from the entire unit. Badhon said, “My experience in Mumbai was extraordinary. Everyone treated me like an honored guest and showed me great affection.” In this film, she worked alongside renowned actors like Tabu and Ali Fazal.

Recently, she was also seen in Esha Murder: Kormofol. She stated that comparing her experiences in Bollywood with domestic projects, the working environment in Mumbai was much better and highly professional.
