14-Foot Python Rescued from Local Area in Moulvibazar, Released in Lawachhara Forest

In Kamalganj Upazila of Moulvibazar, a large python entered a residential area in search of food. The Forest Department safely rescued it and released it back into the forest.

The incident occurred on Tuesday night in a residential area of the upazila. According to locals, a large python suddenly entered a house and attempted to hunt chickens. Noticing the unusual commotion, residents spotted the snake and quickly informed the Forest Department.

A rescue team from the Wildlife Management and Conservation Division arrived at the scene. After a prolonged effort, the snake was safely captured without any harm. According to the rescue team, the python measured approximately 14 feet in length and weighed around 40 kg. Since the snake was healthy, it was immediately released into the depths of Lawachhara National Park.

The Forest Department noted that wild animals typically enter residential areas due to food shortages or shrinking habitats. Residents are advised to report such incidents to authorities without panicking.
