Travis Head’s Explosive Century Leads Australia to 8-Wicket Victory in First Ashes Test at Perth

Australia defeated England by 8 wickets in less than two days in the first Test of the Ashes series in Perth, securing a dominant win. Travis Head was the hero of the match with a stormy century that set history.

England were bowled out for 172 in their first innings. Australia were all out for 132 in their first innings, leaving England with a 40-run lead. In their second innings, England scored 164, seeking some comfort, but Head’s performance overturned the match.

Travis Head scored a blistering century off just 69 balls. Although he started slowly, he reached a half-century in 36 balls and completed the remainder in 33 balls. In one over from Stokes, Head scored 17 runs, leaving Jofra Archer and Gus Atkinson unable to contain him.

Head eventually fell for 123 off 83 balls, but Australia’s victory was already secured. Cameron Green remained unbeaten on 51 to seal the win. Australia leads the series 1-0.

This century was memorable for Head as he broke the record for the fastest century by an Australian against England in terms of balls faced. His performance at the new Optus Stadium in Perth has earned acclaim in Australian cricket history.
