Staff Reporter | PNN:
State-owned gas distribution company, Titash Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited, has reported losses for the third consecutive year. In the fiscal year 2024-25, the company’s total loss reached Tk 772 crore.

Over the past three years, Titash Gas’s cumulative losses have increased to Tk 1,681 crore. Despite these financial setbacks, the company has recommended a 2% cash dividend for shareholders.

According to price-sensitive information submitted to the Dhaka Stock Exchange on Monday, the board of directors of Titash Gas has called an Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 24 December to discuss the approval of this dividend and the company’s financial report. The record date for the AGM has been set as 17 November.

The decision to distribute dividends despite consecutive years of losses has surprised some investors. However, various analysts have expressed concern about the company’s future financial stability and emphasized the need for effective measures to restore stability in gas supply and distribution.
