Three police officers injured in cocktail attack in Gopalganj

On Monday night around 10:30 p.m., three police officers were injured in a cocktail attack near Kotali Para Police Station, Gopalganj. The injured are Female Constable Irene Nahar (31), Constable Arif Hossain (33), and Nazrul Islam (52).

They received primary treatment at Kotali Para Upazila Health Complex. Dr. Kumar Mridul Das, Officer-in-Charge of Health and Family Planning, stated that the officers were injured by splinters from the explosion while on duty, but their injuries were not serious. They were discharged after primary treatment.

OC Khondkar Hafizur Rahman stated that criminals threw a cocktail inside the police station, but no major damage occurred. SI Mamun added that one cocktail was thrown at the police station and two at the Upazila Parishad, but no one was injured at the Parishad. The police have recovered the explosives and started investigations. Efforts are ongoing to identify suspects, file cases, and ensure speedy justice.
