PNN News Desk | Dhaka:
The Ministry of Education has finalized the decision to include seven teachers from private honors-master’s level colleges in the Monthly Pay Order (MPO) system. According to the new regulation, colleges offering honors programs can have five teachers enrolled, while colleges offering master’s programs can have seven teachers enrolled in MPO.

The decision was taken at a meeting held on Tuesday (4 November) under the chairmanship of Rehana Parveen, Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education. The meeting started at 10:30 AM and ended at 2:30 PM.

An official present at the meeting told The Daily Campus:
"Previously, a college affiliated with the National University offering higher secondary and degree programs could have one teacher enrolled in MPO. According to the new decision, colleges offering honors-master’s programs will have seven teachers enrolled in MPO."

He further explained:
"Colleges with only honors courses will have five teachers enrolled in MPO. If both honors and master’s programs are offered, an additional two teachers will be eligible for MPO enrollment."

This new regulation will benefit teachers and ensure an increased number and stability of faculty members in higher education institutions.
