Rajshahi University publishes quota-based admission rules for the 2025–26 academic year

Rajshahi University (RU) has published the application procedures and conditions for quota-based admission for first-year undergraduate and honors programs for the 2025–26 academic year. The information was detailed in a notice signed by the acting Registrar, Professor Dr. Iftikharul Alam Masud.

The notice states that candidates from indigenous/ethnic minority groups must score at least the minimum passing marks (40) in the admission test and appear for the quota selection committee interview with certified copies of their community certificates and other academic documents.

Similarly, sons or daughters of freedom fighters must also achieve the minimum passing marks (40) and attend the interview with certified copies of their parents’ freedom fighter certificates and other relevant documents.

Physically challenged candidates must also meet the minimum passing marks (40) and appear before the quota selection committee with certification and academic documents.

For candidates applying under the sports quota, those who achieve at least the minimum passing marks (40) must present proof of participation in national-level sports events within the last two years to the sports quota selection committee.

The notice emphasizes that the minimum passing mark of 40 cannot be relaxed for any quota. Candidates must apply online following the provided rules and instructions for the specific quota, or their applications will be rejected. The university’s website will provide the detailed timeline and guidelines for quota-based admission candidates.
