The National Citizens Party (NCP) has announced a new steering committee for North Dhaka. Senior leader Ariful Islam Adib has been appointed as convener, while former Chhatra Dal leader Sardar Amirul Islam has been nominated as member-secretary.

The 71-member committee includes Kazi Saiful Islam as senior joint convener, Sadia Farza as senior joint member-secretary, and Mostak Ahmed as organizational secretary. It also comprises 8 joint conveners, 8 joint member-secretaries, 11 co-organizational secretaries, and 39 general members.

Ariful Islam, the new convener, currently serves as senior joint convener, political council member, and chief of the political liaison committee of NCP. Sardar Amirul Islam, the new member-secretary, is a former Dhaka University student and previously held a leadership role in Chhatra Dal. He joined NCP earlier this year.

Akram Hossain, the number-one member, previously led the coordination committee of NCP North Dhaka. He has been active in student movements and was a liaison committee member for the anti-discrimination student movement after the July mass uprising.

The new committee aims to strengthen NCP’s organization in North Dhaka and provide leadership in political activities.
