NCP Will Come to Power Within 10 Years: Hannan Masud

Abdul Hannan Masud, Senior Joint Chief Coordinator of the National Citizen Party (NCP), has claimed that his party will come to power within the next 10 years. He made the statement on Saturday (November 8) while attending a teachers’ sit-in program at the Central Shaheed Minar in Dhaka.

Masud said, “The NCP will contest the next election independently. Once in power, we will fulfill all legitimate demands.”

Speaking on education reform, he added, “Failing to reform the education sector and ignoring teachers’ discrimination is a betrayal of the July Charter. Engage in dialogue with teachers and meet their reasonable demands. Don’t lay a hand on teachers again like you did with Hasina.”

On the same day, assistant teachers from government primary schools resumed their protests after not receiving a clear assurance of grade improvement.

Earlier, on April 24, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education announced the promotion of head teachers from the 11th to 10th grade, and assistant head teachers from the 13th to 12th grade, but assistant teachers expressed dissatisfaction with the decision.
