For the 13th National Parliamentary Election, the National Citizens Party (NCP) has sold 1,011 nomination forms over the past eight days. Initially, the deadline for distributing nomination forms ended, but the party extended it for another seven days, now until 20 November.
At a press conference on Friday evening at the party’s temporary central office in Banglamotor, NCP’s Chief Coordinator and head of the central election committee, Nasiruddin Patwary, provided this information. He said the party’s target is to sell 3,000 nomination forms, which is expected to be achieved in the coming days, Insha’Allah.
Nasiruddin Patwary said, “We are distributing nomination forms to send representatives to parliament on behalf of the people. So far, 1,011 forms have been sold, and we have received a very positive response from the public. Applications are coming from doctors, lawyers, professionals, business people, ulema, and teachers. Seeing this interest, we extended the deadline.”
Nomination forms can be collected from the second floor of Rupayan Trade Center in Banglamotor or online.
The Chief Coordinator also called on journalists: “Those who want to be people’s representatives in parliament should collect nomination forms. You will be able to address issues like wages, exploitation, and oppression in parliament.”
He added, “Insha’Allah, we want to ensure that the people of Bangladesh send competent and capable representatives to parliament. We do not want to send any godfathers, extortionists, or terrorists—only good people.”
The price of each nomination form is 10,000 BDT, while July fighters and low-income individuals can purchase for 2,000 BDT. The formal distribution of nomination forms began on 6 November.
