Jamaat pledges to prioritize education and health

Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Shafiqur Rahman said that if his party comes to power, no woman will be forced to wear a burqa. He stated, “The concern that Jamaat will force women to wear a burqa is baseless. Women will participate in nation-building according to their ability and need, and their respect and dignity will be ensured.”

He made these remarks while addressing a citizens’ rally on Rupshee Pro-Active Village Road, Mirpur, Dhaka, organized by the Jamaat Dhaka Metropolitan North Professionals’ Council.

Shafiqur Rahman also pledged to advance the country in education and health sectors. “Our commitment is clear: education and health will be our top priority. The weak education system and fragile health sector will be strengthened.”

He took a strong stance against corruption, promising equal opportunities and justice for all and to rebuild the broken economy. Urging citizens to vote conscientiously, he said, “Elections should reflect the conscience of the people. We must congratulate those who come to power through a fair election. Even if Jamaat wins, congratulations should be given.”

He advised all political parties to follow ethical politics. “Politics should not involve mudslinging, brute force, or black money. It should be based on principles and conscience.”

Shafiqur Rahman mentioned that after the 2024 election, the Awami League had claimed to remain in power until 2041 but failed to fulfill that in reality.

He added, “Last year, unarmed people were attacked. We never fled. We accepted hanging ropes but never left the country. Whenever Jamaat tried to advance reforms, we were held back. Elections are needed, but the country requires elections like real elections. Old-style elections cannot bring welfare to the country.”

Concluding, he said, “Corruption is a red card, terrorism is a black card. Our goal is to build a corruption-free, socially just, economically balanced country. Jamaat is advancing plans to utilize the youth’s talent for nation-building.”
