Gang Rape of Madrasa Student: Islami Chhatra Majlis Holds Human Chain and Protest at Dhaka University

The protest program was held on Friday (October 17, 2025) in the afternoon at the base of the Raju Memorial Sculpture under the initiative of the organization’s Dhaka University unit. Participating leaders demanded the immediate arrest of the perpetrators and exemplary punishment for those responsible.

Speakers at the human chain said the abduction and gang rape of an innocent madrasa student in Gazipur is an extremely inhumane act that has shamed the entire nation. They strongly demanded swift and exemplary punishment for the culprits involved in this heinous crime.

Expressing deep concern, the speakers also said that incidents of violence against women and children are increasing at an alarming rate across the country, which poses a grave concern for both the state and society. They urged the government to take strict action to curb such crimes and ensure justice by arresting and punishing the offenders without delay.

Among those present at the human chain and protest rally were Shahriar Alam, a leader of Islami Chhatra Majlis Dhaka University unit; Wasir Al Mastur, reading room secretary of Sir A.F. Rahman Hall Council; and Ali Hossain Tanmoy, official of the Baytul Mal department, along with other leaders and activists of the organization.
