Fire at Dhaka's Shahjalal Airport Cargo Village, 14 Fire Service Units at Work

A fire broke out at the Cargo Village of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka today (Saturday, October 18) around 2:30 PM. The news of the fire was confirmed by Talha bin Jasim, the spokesperson of the Fire Service's media cell.

Smoke was seen rising from the vicinity of the Cargo Village near Gate 8 of the airport. Due to the severity of the fire, 14 Fire Service units were immediately dispatched to the site and are working to control the blaze. In addition, two fire units from the Bangladesh Civil Aviation and the Bangladesh Air Force are also at the scene.

Meanwhile, another 18 fire units have been sent to the site, which is expected to expedite the firefighting efforts.

At this moment, detailed information regarding the exact extent of damage and losses has not been obtained, but local authorities have swiftly taken steps to control the fire.
