Former Union Awami League General Secretary arrested in Faridpur under anti-terrorism case

Police from Bhanga Police Station in Faridpur have arrested Touhidur Rahman Bulbul, former General Secretary of Algi Union in Bhanga Upazila. The arrest operation took place at 6:00 AM on Monday (November 24) near Harirhat Bazar. He was later sent to Bhanga jail.

OC of Bhanga Police, Md. Ashraf Hossain, stated that Bulbul recently blocked the Dhaka-Khulna highway using domestic weapons and thousands of people. During this incident, he was involved in toppling trees to block the road and in acts of arson. Following the event, a case was filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act at Bhanga Police Station.

The OC added that Bulbul was arrested as a suspect in this case. Additionally, a person named Limas Sheikh was arrested on charges of human trafficking. Both were sent to jail following proper legal procedures.
