For the upcoming 13th national parliamentary elections, former city BNP president and ex-MP Nazrul Islam Manju has been nominated as the BNP candidate for the Khulna-2 (Sadar) constituency.
On Sunday evening, Manju announced the news through two posts on Facebook. In the first post, he expressed gratitude to Allah and wrote: “I thank the Acting Chairman of the party for directing me to begin work with everyone as the BNP-nominated candidate for Khulna-2 in the upcoming 13th national parliamentary elections.”
In the second post, he pledged to refrain from celebrations such as distributing sweets or belittling anyone after receiving the nomination as per the party’s instructions. He added, “No one should harbor resentment, and attitudes like ‘let’s see this time’ should also be avoided.”
Manju also mentioned that the Acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman, called him on Sunday afternoon and instructed him to start election preparations. He said, “I have been directed to begin election-related work with all parties, regardless of affiliations.”
Previously, Nazrul Islam Manju had been actively involved in BNP activities in the Khulna-2 constituency for an extended period. His participation in the election has already generated enthusiasm among party members and supporters in the area.
