The Directorate of Primary Education has held a meeting with Teletalk regarding the recruitment of 13,500 assistant teachers in government primary schools across the country. On Monday morning (November 3), a final decision was made on software development to facilitate the online application process.

S.M. Mahbub Alam, Research Officer at the Directorate of Primary Education, confirmed to The Daily Campus that the recruitment notification is planned to be issued quickly in light of the new gazette.

Earlier, on November 2, the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education amended the rules for primary teacher recruitment and issued a gazette notification. The new amendment replaces the phrase “other matters” in Rule 7, sub-rule (2), clause (b) with “at least in science along with other subjects,” making it clearer that graduates in science as well as other subjects are eligible to apply.

According to the main recruitment rules for primary teachers, 93% of positions to be announced in 2025 will be filled directly based on merit. Of these, 20% of the positions were reserved for graduates in science, while the remaining 80% were for graduates in other subjects. The new amendment clarifies the distribution of positions and eligibility criteria more precisely.

The Directorate of Primary Education stated that the online application process will begin very soon, allowing candidates to apply with all necessary information and qualifications.
