Fire at NCP leader’s house in Netrokona raises political tension

A fire broke out at the gate of National Citizens Party (NCP) central organizer (Northern region) Pritam Sohag’s house in Gazinpur, Sadar Upazila, Netrokona, around midnight Sunday.

Sohag claimed that miscreants set the fire to create fear due to political rivalry. He said, “The fire damaged my wife’s sandals and slippers, and the electricity meter was affected. No major damage occurred as the fire was quickly extinguished.”

Netrokona Model Police OC Kazi Shahnewaz said, “Miscreants set fire to the gate. Police have been dispatched, and legal action will be taken after investigation.”

Locals suspect a political motive behind the incident. Authorities are investigating and working to maintain peace.
