Fire at Cotton Warehouse in Tongi, Gazipur — 7 Fire Service Units Battling Flames

A fire broke out at a cotton warehouse in Tongi, Gazipur, on Saturday (November 8) around 12:00 noon in the Millgate area of Station Road.

According to eyewitnesses and Fire Service officials, locals noticed thick black smoke and initially tried to douse the flames themselves. As the fire intensified, they called the national emergency hotline 999. In response, seven Fire Service units from Tongi rushed to the spot and began firefighting operations.

As of 12:40 p.m., the fire had not been completely extinguished. No casualties have been reported so far.

Authorities have begun an investigation to determine the exact cause of the fire.
