Popular Tamil actor turned politician Thalapathy Vijay has published a detailed declaration of his assets ahead of the upcoming Tamil Nadu legislative assembly election. His affidavit submitted during nomination provides a full picture of his financial status.

According to the affidavit, Vijay’s total assets amount to approximately 603 crore rupees, with movable assets accounting for about 404 crore rupees and immovable assets about 198 crore rupees.

His properties include residential and commercial properties across Tamil Nadu and agricultural land in Kodaikanal. Cash on hand amounts to approximately 2 lakh rupees, with over 213 crore rupees in bank deposits.

Vijay owns gold and silver jewelry weighing approximately 883 grams, valued around 15 lakh rupees. His car collection includes multiple luxury models from BMW and Toyota.

In the 2024–25 financial year, his total income amounted to about 184 crore rupees, primarily from personal work, interest, and property rent.

Vijay’s wife, Sangeetha, separately declared her assets at approximately 15.76 crore rupees.

The affidavit also notes significant loans provided by Vijay and family members to close associates, including his wife, parents, children, and political colleagues.

Vijay has declared that he has no criminal cases pending and has never been convicted. He has listed his education as higher secondary, although he did not complete a graduate degree.

This is Vijay’s first election. He has stated in campaigns that his entry into politics is driven by a desire to serve people. He anticipates that this election will involve direct competition between his party and the ruling power.

Overall, the transition of Vijay from entertainment star to political arena and the disclosure of his substantial wealth has already generated significant public discussion.
